The Assignment
Based in New Orleans, Gemellis Pop-Up Restaurant is a chef driven dining experience created by twin brothers who grew up around Sunday family tables filled with Italian cooking, conversation, and shared plates. Founded by Executive Sous Chef Edward Charles of Lilette Restaurant, Gemellis celebrates those roots through intimate pop-up dinners that combine elevated cuisine with the warmth of family tradition.

For this event, Gemellis hosted an upscale multi-course dinner featuring thoughtfully curated wine pairings. They needed photography that would capture the sophistication of the evening while communicating the heart of the concept. The goal was to showcase the cuisine, atmosphere, and sense of occasion so the images could be used to promote future pop up events across their website and social media.

The Approach
Our creative direction centered on highlighting the culinary craft and presentation that define the Gemellis pop-up experience. We focused on plated dishes, key ingredients, and the textures that bring each course to life, documenting both preparation and final presentation. By emphasizing the food itself and the elevated dining environment, the photography invites viewers to imagine the experience without relying on staged moments.
The Result
The final image collection provides Gemellis Pop-Up Restaurant with a polished set of marketing assets designed to promote upcoming New Orleans dinners and wine-pairing experiences. The imagery reinforces the story behind Gemellis — a concept rooted in family tradition, refined through years of professional culinary experience, and shared through intimate, thoughtfully prepared dining events.
